ISO 20022 Financial Messaging

Aligned by Design

Overview

ISO 20022 is the global standard for financial messaging, used in SWIFT, SEPA, and TARGET2. IOF implements ISO 20022 XML/JSON schemas for all payment initiation, settlement, and reconciliation messages. Standardised identifiers (ISIN for securities, LEI for legal entities, BIC for institutions) are enforced at the schema layer.

Scope

Applies to all FINANCIAL rails (Payments, Treasury, FX, Settlement, Reconciliation) and CAPITAL_MARKETS rails (Sukuk Settlement, Clearing). All API responses conform to ISO 20022 message structures.

Key Controls

  • ISO 20022 XML/JSON schema validation on all financial messages
  • ISIN identifiers for all securities (Sukuk, funds)
  • LEI (Legal Entity Identifier) on all counterparty records
  • BIC (Bank Identifier Code) on all institution records
  • pacs.008, pacs.009, camt.053, pain.001 message support
